Warehouse Person

As part of our busy Supply Chain team, the Warehouse Person will be responsible for the efficient operation of all warehouse activities, ensuring all activities are carried out in conformance with VMAC Global Technology Inc.’s policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be expected to accurately perform a variety of tasks including, receiving, inventory counts, warehouse storage and organization, in a safe, efficient, and cost effective manner. You must be able to work well under pressure with attention to details. Proficiency in data entry, the use of MS Excel and Word and familiarity with communication via email will be definite assets.

In this role, the Warehouse Person will interface with suppliers, carriers and other departments such as Production, Engineering and Finance and assist with checking quantity and quality of parts received and issued and the accurate recording of these transactions. Use of techniques that produce a safe and secure work environment for personnel and stored products together with problem solving, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills are essential.

Along with an energetic temperament, requirements will include holding a valid Forklift certificate, having manual dexterity required for operating machinery and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Mechanical Engineer

We have a new opening for a full-time Mechanical Engineer who is strong in Project Management. This position’s primary responsibilities are to work with coworkers to take a design from prototype to manufacture through “hands on” prototype evaluation, reliability, documentation and manufacturability stages. This position requires liaising with internal and external customers and suppliers, including large vehicle manufacturers. This engineer must maintain a good working relationship with internal departments to help facilitate rapid development and keep new products on schedule to market release. Working with internal teams, scheduling and costing needs to be developed and followed. Strong analytical decision-making, leadership and organizational skills are essential.
Additional responsibilities will include the creation and maintenance of cost-leadership of product lines through component redesign and testing, resolve manufacturing issues, promote continuous improvement initiatives, and provide high-level technical support. It is important that the candidate is familiar with manufacturing practices and mechanical systems.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Mechanical engineering degree with 5-10 years (preferred) design and project management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong hands-on mechanical background required (automotive / engine preferred)
  • Assertive self-starter with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • High energy level with ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • High organizational and documentation skills, and familiarity with common product development processes
  • Participate in the design process as required by the project and perform design tasks as directed by the Engineering Manager
  • Interpreting and applying GD&T
  • Create component machining, fabrication, sheet metal, and assembly CAD models and drawings
  • Create clear and concise test reports
  • Experienced and trained in:
    • SolidWorks and Microsoft Office software, manufacturing processes, general machining and fabrication techniques, and analytical decision-making
    • Conventional machine tool operation, and steel and aluminum fabrication experience an asset
    • Reciprocating and/or rotary screw compressor knowledge will be a distinct advantage
    • Instrumentation and data acquisition systems knowledge an asset, but not essential

Job Description:

The Technical Support Representative position reports to the Customer Care Manager and is primarily responsible for taking client technical service support calls, developing processes and training documentation, traveling to and training our dealers and clients and generally being an amazing ambassador for VMAC.

  • Preference will be given to those candidates with call center and/or ISO related process experience demonstrating proven skills in handling challenging client situations effectively and professionally.
  • It is a prerequisite for this role that the successful candidate has excellent command of written and spoken English, has good typing skills and practical experience in MS Office applications.
  • Diagnostic experience or technical qualification/background a definite asset.
