PREDATAIR60 New Features
The PREDATAIR60 was launched one year ago and
sales have been rising. Thank you to all of our
Dealers who supported our launch of this
revolutionary new product line. We have now taken
the feedback received from customers and added
new features to the product line. Some of these
features are highlighted below:
- Hydraulic Oil Temperature Sensing - both in the
cooler discharge and in the hydraulic manifold.
- Unload/Load-up Solenoid - greatly reduces the
load on the hydraulic system by limiting the
compressor air pressure to approximately 70 psi
during startup or periods of no air use.
- Check Valve and Pressure Sensor at Compressor
Air Discharge - check valve for an air reservoir is now
built in.
- Flash Codes - There are more flash codes
using the two LED lights on the top of the PREDATAIR
to indicate the status of the system. Some of the
things that are indicated are Temperature Probe
Failure, Cold Start Mode, High Pressure Start,
Compressor Over-Temp, and Hydraulic Over-Temp.
New PREDATAIR60 Accessories are now available:
- Hour Meter (Part # A700147)

VMAC System Flushing Procedures
Component failure (such as a gearbox, compressor,
hose or cooler core) can leave metal filings and other
foreign materials in the system. To flush the system,
follow this procedure:
- Before replacing any failed component, check all
other system components for evidence of
contamination and clean as thoroughly as possible.
Use compressed air to blow out lines and other
components.
- Once the system has been cleaned as thoroughly
as possible, replace the failed component and
reconnect all lines and fittings.
- Install a new oil filter and fill the system with
VMAC compressor oil to the correct level.
- Start the truck engine and engage the air system.
Allow the system to pressurize and operate without
using any air for about 15 minutes without
discharging any air.
- Shut down the system and allow it to cool.
Change the oil, oil filter and coalescing element. Refill
the system with VMAC compressor oil to the correct
level.
- After 50 hours of use, replace the oil filter and
top up the oil level.

Diesel Prices Still Rising
The national average price for a gallon of diesel rose
2.3 cents to $2.92 for the week ending May 14,
according to the Energy Information Advministration.
This marked the seventh straight week of diesel price
hikes, with prices having risen 35.5 cents since the
week ending March 26.
All regions reported an increase - except for
California, the region in most need of relief at the
pumps. There prices fell a modest 0.2 cents to
$3.242, but California still held its claim to being the
most expensive region for a fill up.
The New England and Central Atlantic regions tied for
posting the larges increase, with both up 3.1 cents
to $3.003 and $3.014, respectively. Bargain hunters
would still be happiest at the Gulf Coast, with $2.829
per gallon price of diesel, after a relatively modest
1.5 cent increase.
