Service and a Smile
Taking orders, tracking shipments,
and troubleshooting systems are all in a day's work
for your Customer Support and Technical Support
Representatives at VMAC. If you haven't called them
yet, meet them here!
Winnipeg, Toronto, and
Montreal
were all once called home to this self-
proclaimed "computer nerd", who made the move to
the more weather friendly Vancouver Island three
years ago. Gerry enjoys auto racing, jazz and classical
music, computers and VW diesels, and is happily
married to his "better looking and younger" wife,
Joy.
Witty, thoughtful, and
always up for a good laugh (even at her expense),
Pam has been a welcomed addition to the VMAC
Customer Support team. Pam has three teenage
sons, is happily married, and enjoys gardening, crafts,
and being "showered with expensive gifts".
Colorfully referred to as
the "British Guy" at VMAC, Robert brings a wealth of air
compressor knowledge to the Tech Support table. A
nature photographer, Robert and his wife enjoy
photographing island wildlife on the weekends.
Camping, hiking, and
off-roading the North West with his dog Storm, Terry is
an outdoors enthusiast and an experienced auto
mechanic. He enjoys hockey and cars, and was born
and raised in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
A Manitoba native, JP
has been quoted as being proud to work for a
manufacturer committed to such high standards. His
love of mechanical things coupled with a desire to
help people has made JP the perfect fit for his
technical support position, as well as a genuinely
pleasant person to work with. JP is engaged to his
girlfriend of eight years, with four children between
them.
Born in Ontario and
raised on Vancouver Island, Rick brings 12 years of
auto mechanics and four years of VMAC technical
experience to the Tech Support team. On the
weekend, you'd find the all-star Canadian playing
hockey, mountain biking, and spending time with his
kids.

Water's long been the
most universally accepted agent for fighting fires, but
in an age of volatile chemicals, complex building
structures, and dense population, it's no longer
considered the most effective agent available.
Introducing H20 version 2.0.
 Known in the industry
as compressed air
foam systems or CAFS, fire crews utilize a mixture of
chemical solvent and water, which produces a mass
of carbon dioxide-filled bubbles. These bubbles,
propelled at high speeds via a truck-mounted air
compressor, literally smother flames in a fire retardant
blanket.
The benefit? CAFS attack all three
sides of the fire triangle simultaneously, carpeting the
fuel and reducing its capacity to seek oxygen.
Suffocating flames in addition to extinguishing heat is
an integral strategy in suppressing engulfed oils,
which respond better to carbon dioxide-filled bubbles
than water droplets. The foam's properties also allow
it to adhere to ceilings and walls, reducing ambient
heat and shielding surfaces from radiant energy and
significantly reducing smoke damage.
 To sum, compressed air foam
removes heat, oxygen and fuel from the flame
equation, allowing rescue workers quicker, safer
access and less structural damage.
But the innovation of a
CAF
system
would be lost without the reliability, durability, and
power required from the truck-mounted air
compressor onsite.
Fortunately, qualities like these are what earn the
VMAC VR140 UNDERHOOD Air Compressor System
its stripes.
Mounting under the hood of the
Ford F550 SuperDuty truck, the VMAC UNDERHOOD
Air Compressor allows for extreme emergency vehicle
maneuverability and space savings. At the same time,
VMAC's rotary screw system ensures 100% duty cycle
for a continuous course of air of up to 150CFM and
175 PSI.
Delivering power and reliability
from underneath the hoods of North American
emergency vehicles, the UNDERHOOD Air
Compressor has made a valuable addition to the CAF
system, assisting rescue workers save time, money,
and lives.
Authorized VMAC Dealer Darley
Company of Chippewa Falls, WI proudly installs
and tests VMAC UNDERHOOD Air Systems in Fire
Service Vehicles capable of powering CAFS.
