  • PREDATAIR60 UPDATE!
  • The official working launch of the PREDATAIR was at the CONEXPO show in Las Vegas. We enjoyed demonstrating the system to everyone at the show. The feedback we've received has been amazing. Currently we're finishing production drawings and getting ready for our Beta build.

The original manifold design has been changed due to feedback with our test units. The information given back from testing in the field has really helped shape the future of the PREDATAIR.

Production launch is only a few months away, in June, so make sure you book now. Our booking order program has been a great success and the June production run is almost sold out. July has a number of units available but they are going nearly as fast. Order now to avoid disappointment.

Call your territory representative, our inside sales department or your closest dealer for pricing, availability and any questions you may have.

    Visit the PREDATAIR website

    questions.

  • CORRECTION NOTICE!
  • 2005 International DT466 VR140 Clarification.

Our apologies go out for the lack of clarity in our last newsletter. The VR140 will not fit the new DT466 application. Unfortunately there is not enough room for mounting the unit on the engine.

The VR70 application has been finalized by engineering and is being tooled up for production. The system is a V900086 and fits the 4300-4400 chassis for 2005 and 2006.

Early details from engineering state that this kit is the easiest install ever done here at VMAC and should be under 8 hours for a first install.

  • High Performance System Requires High Performance Oil
  • 200_hours

We all know that VMAC Air Compressors require the use of VMAC oil. VMAC oil is not your average synthetic oil.

There has been a case where a customer had frequent problems including premature bearing failures and over heating issues. It turned out they were using good quality synthetic oil but NOT using VMAC oil. The customer was skeptical that this could be the problem claiming that for every screw compressor that they use, including large electric shop screw, portable diesel trailer screws, natural gas compressor screws they use this oil and it works fine.

This is what the customer did not understand. VMAC Compressors operate at around 220 up to 250 F and shuts down over 270 F, while most others have an operating temperature of 180-200 F.

VMAC oil has three important functions:
    1. The oil helps to seal the internal clearances and essential acts almost like a ring in a piston compressor.
    2. The oil removes the heat of compression from the compressor, this allows screw compressors to provide higher discharge pressures and run at a higher duty cycle than reciprocating compressors.
    3. The oil lubricates the compressor, most importantly the bearings.

Another great year at the NTEA!

We brought a full team of sales people to the show as well as a couple senior engineers. The engineering staff participated in the truck manufacturers update sessions to get a head start on the model year change over. Early feedback looks good and there should be some fairly easy transitions to accommodate the 2006 models.

The sales staff had a great time showing off the new PREDATAIR60 for the first time. Potential customers at the show comparing the size and weight difference to our competitors were extremely impressed. The PREDATAIR was easily the lightest hydraulic powered unit at the show, even compared to some systems with less than half of the output. The smallest Ingersol Rand at the show weighed in at 347lbs, almost 200lbs more. How much GVW can you afford?

Of course the UNDERHOOD system drew as much attention as always. There are still a significant number of people who've never seen it and are amazed at the system.

Our entire contact list from the show has had an initial call from a sales team member. The info packages are going out soon.

  • Trade Show Update - CONEXPO
  • conexpo

An amazing demonstration event at CONEXPO!

We had a full force in Las Vegas, demonstrating a VR70, PREDATAIR60 and Lincoln AIRVANTAGE500.

It was an awesome show with tonnes of contacts. We are working hard to follow up with all contacts and send information packages to each of them.

It is amazing how many people still have not heard of UNDERHOOD Air Compressors. They just couldn't believe that they no longer needed their tow-behind compressors....
